A UPS can “bridge the gap” until a backup generator is started.
Hopefully, you have a current, well maintained Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) that will protect critical loads from spikes, voltage dips, fluctuation and power failures. A UPS can “bridge the gap” until a backup generator is started.
Maintenance and testing must be performed regularly to protect critical systems and keep them operating reliably. Simply providing a UPS does not protect your facility from power supply fluctuations.

Information about Preventive Maintenance (PM)
Regularly scheduled PM is required to protect your emergency power systems. (Annual, Semi-annual, or Quarterly)
Does your system require a Minor PM or a Major PM? What is the difference? Below is a short description for the tasks Power Up LLC does during each type of visit.

Minor PM Scope:
Visual Inspection:
Visual Inspection:
- Inspect overall unit operation
- Inspect display function
- Inspect alarm history
- Inspect cooling fans
- Input voltages and currents
- DC voltage and current
- AC ripple voltage and current
- Output voltages and currents
- Breakers
- Check and replace all filters (as required)
- Perform complete thermal scan of all possible electrical connections
- Remove all foreign debris from equipment compartments, where applicable
- Check and record room ambient temperature and verify proper operation of ventilation equipment
Major PM Scope: -Includes everything that is included in the Minor PM plus more.
